대나무 살 사이로 내리는 햇빛 조각이 아름다운 지우산
예부터 존엄을 상징하며, 귀한 사람들의 햇볕과 비바람을 막아주던 지우산. 전북무형유산 우산장 윤규상 보유자는 잊혀져 가던 지우산을 복원했습니다.
일일이 대나무를 쪼개 명주실로 연결하고, 한지를 한 장씩 공들여 붙인 지우산은 까다로운 제작 과정만큼이나 높은 품격을 자랑합니다.
들기름을 먹여 방수 처리를 거쳐 우산으로도 사용이 가능하고, 자외선 차단율 99% 인증을 받아 양산으로도 활용이 가능합니다.

Since ancient times, Jiusan(Traditional paper umbrella) has symbolized dignity and protected people from the sun and wind. Jeonbuk Intangible Cultural Heritage Korean Umbrella holder Gyu-sang Yun has restored the forgotten Korean umbrella.
Hand-splitting bamboo, connecting it with silk threads, and painstakingly gluing each piece of Hanji paper together, Jiusan is as high quality as the process of making it.
It is made waterproof by feeding it with perilla oil, so it can be used as an umbrella. And certified with 99% UV protection, so you can use it as a parasol.

전북무형유산 우산장 윤규상 보유자는 17살에 지우산 공예마을 ‘장재마을’의 한 공장에 취직해 지우산 만들기를 시작했습니다. 일을 배운 지 7년만에 자신만의 공장을 세우기도 했으나, 비닐 우산이 등장하고 수입산 우산 산업이 발전하면서 지우산은 점차 잊혀져 갔습니다. 그러던 중, 지인의 제안으로 지우산 제작기술을 복원하기 시작했고 수많은 시행착오 끝에 복원에 성공했습니다. 지금은 아들이자 이수자인 윤성호와 함께 지우산을 만들고, 다양한 프로젝트도 진행하며 지우산을 알리고 있습니다.
Korean Umbrella Master Artisan, Gyu-sang Yun
Gyu-sang Yun is the holder of the Jeonbuk Intangible Cultural Heritage ‘Korean Umbrella’(Jiusan). At the age of 17, He started making Korean umbrellas at a factory in Jangjae Village(Korean umbrella craft village in Jeonju). After seven years of learning the trade, he set up his own factory, but with the advent of plastic umbrellas and the development of the umbrella industry, Korean umbrella was gradually forgotten. At the suggestion of an acquaintance, he began to restore the art of making Korean umbrellas, and after numerous trials and errors, he succeeded in restoring it. Today, he makes Korean umbrellas with his son, Sung-ho Yun, and works on various projects to promote Korean umbrellas(Jiusan).

존엄의 상징, 지우산
산(傘)은 예부터 신분이 귀한 사람들의 햇볕과 비바람을 막아주거나, 가장 존엄한 자를 보위하는 상징물로 쓰이기도 했습니다. 아무나 쓸 수 없었기에 이는 존엄의 상징성이자 품격을 뜻하기도 했습니다.
지우산은 한국, 일본, 베트남 등 아시아 전역에서 발전했습니다. 대나무로 살대를 만들고, 기름이나 밀랍을 먹인 전통 종이로 비를 막았습니다.
A symbol of dignity
San(傘; umbrella, parasol, a ceremonial device for sun and rain protection for kings and royalty) have long been used to protect the most dignified from the sun and wind, or as a symbol of status. It was a symbol of dignity and class because not just anyone could use it.
Jiusan evolved throughout Asia, including Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Sticks were made from bamboo, and oil- or beeswax-coated traditional paper was used to keep out the rain.

사용 방법 및 사용시 주의사항
건조하고 통풍이 잘 되는 곳에 보관해주세요. 잘 말리지 않고 보관할 경우 곰팡이가 생길 수 있습니다. 실외(마당, 정원 등) 사용이 가능하나 관리에 각별히 주의가 필요합니다.
들기름칠한 우산은 약간의 기름 냄새가 남아있을 수 있으며, 시간이 지나면서 색감이 진해집니다.
비에 젖었을 경우, 펼쳐서 충분히 건조한 후 한지 결에 따라 접어 보관해 주세요.
강한 충격에 파손될 우려가 있으니 취급 시 주의해 주세요. 거친 재질의 세척 도구를 사용할 시 제품 표면이 긁힐 수 있으니 주의해 주세요.
Usage and Precautions
Store in a dry and ventilated place. If stored without proper drying, it may become moldy. Could be used outdoors (yard, garden, etc.), but care must be taken.
Perilla oiled Jiusan may retain a slight smell of oil, and the color will darken over time.
If it gets wet in the rain, unfold it, dry it thoroughly, and fold it according to the grain of the Hanji paper before storing it.
