In Jeonju, a city that has long been a producer of fine Hanji, she creates and introduces harmonious products using the color and texture of Hanji. She hopes that many people will experience Hanji and capture their precious dreams and wishes with her Hanji Dreamcatcher.

우수한 자연과 기술력의 조합, 한지
한지는 닥나무로 만듭니다. 여러 지역에서 한지를 만들었는데, 그중 전주 흑석골이 유명한 한지 생산지였습니다. 닥나무가 많이 생산되고, 흑석골의 물이 맑아 한지 뜨기가 좋았기 때문이죠.
환경 뿐만 아니라 종이를 뜨는 기술도 우수합니다. 닥풀을 넣는 과정, 물질을 좌우로 하는 ‘외발뜨기’, 종이를 여러 장 겹쳐 방망이로 다듬이질을 하는 ‘도침’ 등은 질기고 오래 보존 가능한 한지를 만드는 우리 제지술의 특징입니다.
Superior combination of nature and technology, Hanji
Hanji is made from dak wood(Broussonetia kazinoki). Hanji was made in various regions, among which Jeonju was a famous Hanji production area. This is because there is a lot of dak wood produced, and the water in Jeonju is clear, so it was good for making Hanji.
Not only the environment, but also the paper-making technology is excellent. The process of adding darkpull, flowing casting, and dochim(overlapping and batting several sheets of Hanji) are the characteristics of Korean paper-making that make Hanji tough and long-lasting.
좋은 꿈을 꾸기를 바라는 마음, 드림캐처
드림캐처는 북미 원주민(특히 오지브웨족)의 공예품으로 출발했습니다. 이들은 세상을 열었다는 신비로운 여성을 ‘거미 여인’이라고 불렀는데요. 이 여인은 특히 신생아와 어린아이를 보호해주었습니다. 이후 여인이 보호하기 힘들 정도로 부족이 많아지자, 드림캐처를 만들자는 아이디어가 나왔습니다. 나뭇가지 등을 구부려 만든 고리에 거미줄 같은 망을 엮어 씌우고 깃털을 달아 만들었는데요, 나쁜 꿈은 거미줄(그물망)에 걸러지고 좋은 꿈은 깃털을 타고 내려온다고 여겼습니다.
Sweet dreams, dreamcatcher
Dreamcatchers originated as an artifact of the Native Americans(especially the Ojibwe). They called a mystical woman who opened the world, ‘the Spider Woman’, who protected them, especially newborns and young children. Later, when the tribe grew too large for the woman to protect, the idea of a dreamcatcher was born: a ring made of bent twigs and other branches, woven with a spider's web-like netting, and attached with feathers. It was believed that bad dreams would be caught in the web, while good dreams would descend on the feathers.
