부귀영화의 상징 모란
모란도는 중국 당대부터 그려졌다고 합니다. 신라 선덕여왕이 당 태종에게 모란도 석 점을 받은 일화는 널리 알려져 있습니다. 모란은 ‘꽃 중의 왕’으로 불리며 주로 성군을 상징했고, 11세기 이후에는 부귀영화를 상징하는 꽃으로 자리 잡았습니다. 모란은 화조화의 요소, 단독화 등으로 다양하게 그려졌고, 특히 조선시대에는 궁중병풍으로 많이 그려져 국가와 왕실의 위격을 보여주었습니다. 민간에서도 궁중의 모란도 병풍을 모방했죠. 모란도와 함께 부귀영화를 기원해보시길 바랍니다.
Peony, the symbol of wealth and honor
Moran-Do(Peony painting) has been drawn since the Tang Dynasty in China, and Queen Seondeok of Silla received three-colored peony paintings from Tang Emperor. The peony is called the 'king of flowers' and mainly symbolizes the wise king, and after the 11th century, it became a symbol of wealth and honor. Peonies were drawn in various ways, as elements of Hwajo-Do(Painting of flowers and birds) and or sole material. Especially in the Joseon Dynasty, they were drawn in royal folding screens to show the power of the state and the royal family. Civilians also imitated peony royal folding screens.
